I saw the Flying Wallendas when I was a kid, somewhere in the 40s. The senior Mr. Wallenda was shot out of a cannon, over a Ferris Wheel and over the recovery net. The crowd screamed as he continued over a trailer truck and then landed on a big pile of cushions that was hidden out of sight. Scared the crap out of the crowd. What a cheer erupted as Mr. Wallenda came running around from behind the trailer! Great act and he had no safety harness.
